JOSEPH'S BIG REVEAL (45)

And Judah’s words touched Joseph’s heart and he couldn’t stand it any longer. He could see the distress of his brothers and knew that it was time to move forward and get over the past. There were many people in the room, and he said to them, “OUT, ALL OF YOU!”

And when he was alone with his brothers he said, “I am Joseph your brother!”

And he broke down and wept before them, crying so loudly that the Egyptians could hear him outside, and word of it quickly carried to the Pharaoh’s palace.

“Is my father really still alive?” He said, but his brothers were speechless! They were stunned to realize that Joseph was standing right there in front of them. “Please, come closer to me,” he said to them, (for they were standing a fair way away). So they came closer and he said again, “Look, it’s me, Joseph, your brother, who you sold into slavery. But don’t be upset anymore boys, and don’t be angry with yourselves. We were all so stupid back then and Yahuah Himself planned all this, bringing me here to Egypt ahead of you all to save our lives. This famine that has ravaged the land for two years will last five more years, and there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. So Yahuah has sent me ahead of you to keep you and all our families alive and to preserve many survivors.

Don’t you see it was Yahuah Who sent me here, not you! And He is the One Who made me an adviser to the Pharaoh himself and the manager of his entire Palace and the Governor of all Egypt! How insane is that! Me? A Governor?

Now hurry back to our father and tell him that the Mighty Alahim he taught me about years ago, Yahuah Almighty has made me master over all the land of Egypt. Tell him to come down here to me immediately! And you can all live here in Egypt with me and my family. There is plenty of room out in the region of Goshen. You can all live out there and still be near me with all your children and grandchildren, your flocks and herds, and everything you own. I will take care of you out there, for there are still five more years of famine ahead of us. Otherwise you, your household, and all your animals will starve.

Go and tell my father this!”

But his brothers were still reeling in shock and bewilderment, so Joseph added, “Look! You can all see that I’m really Joseph! Even Benjamin can recognise me. So go tell my father of my position here in Egypt and tell him everything you have seen, and then bring my father here quickly.”

And weeping with great joy, he embraced Benjamin tightly, before kissing each of his brothers and he wept over them, and after that they all began to relax and talk freely with him again. And this amazing news soon reached the Pharaoh’s palace, “Joseph’s hebrew brothers are all here in Egypt!”

And the Pharaoh was delighted to hear this (he wasn’t hateful of the Hebrews as the Egyptians were) and the Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers, ‘This is what you must do: Load up your animals and hurry back to the land of Canaan. Then get your father and all of your families, and return here to me. I will give you the very best land in Egypt, and you will eat from the best we have. But go quickly, take carts from the land of Egypt to carry your little children and your wives, and bring your father right back here. Don’t worry about all of your belongings, cause we’ve got the best stuff right here in Egypt and it’s all yours.’”

So the sons of Yisharal did as they were told and Joseph provided them with wagons, as the Pharaoh had commanded, for the journey. And he gave each of them new clothes, but to Benjamin he gave five changes of clothes and 300 pieces of silver (for he was his only brother from his own mother). He also sent his father ten male donkeys loaded with the finest products of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and other supplies he would need on his journey. And Joseph kissed his brothers again and sent them off, and as they left, he called after them, “Don’t fight about all this stuff along the way OK boys!”

And they left Egypt and returned to their father in the land of Canaan. “JOSEPH IS STILL ALIVE! .......JOSEPH IS STILL ALIVE!” They cried to their father upon arriving home to Hebron. “And he is the governor of all the land of Egypt!”

And Yisharal nearly fell over backwards, stunned at the news and he couldn’t believe it. Had his sons been smoking some special kind of Egyptian weed? But when the brothers told him everything Joseph had said, and when Yisharal saw all the carts Joseph had sent to carry him, their father’s spirits erupted with grand rejoicing.

“WOW!! How can this be? How amazing and awesome is Yahuah!! My son Joseph is alive! . . . . I must go and see him before I die!!”
