After breaking camp at Rephidim, the children of Yisharal arrived in the wilderness of Sinai exactly two months after leaving Egypt, and they set up camp there at the base of Mount Sinai. And Moses went up the mountain to meet with YAHUSHA, Who called to him from the mountain, saying, “This is what you are to say to the house of Jacob, and the instructions you are to announce to the children of Yisharal: ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on ‘eagles’ wings’ and brought you to Myself. Now if you will carefully obey My voice and keep My Eternal Blood Covenant, you will be My own treasured possession, more special than all other people on earth, for all the earth belongs to Me. And you will be my kingdom of priests and a set-apart nation.’ This is the message you must give to the people of Yisharal.”
YAHUSHA INTENDED TO RAISE YISHARAL UP IN THE MARRIAGE COVENANT SO THAT SHE WOULD BE A WITNESS AND EXAMPLE TO ALL THE OTHER NATIONS (HE DIDN’T JUST CARE ABOUT HIS CHOSEN NATION, BUT THE INDIVIDUAL FROM ALL OVER THE EARTH – HE WANTS EVERYONE). ANY STRANGER WAS WELCOME TO GRAFT IN THROUGH OBEDIENT BEHAVIOUR ALSO.
So Moses returned from the mountain and called together the elders of the people and told them everything that YAHUSHA had commanded him. And all the people responded together, “We will do everything that Yahuah has commanded.”
So Moses brought the people’s answer back to YAHUSHA, Who said to Moses, “I will come to you in a thick cloud Moses, so the people themselves can hear Me when I speak with you. Then they will always trust and believe you.”
So Moses told YAHUSHA what the people had said. Then YAHUSHA told Moses, “Now go down and prepare the people for My arrival. Prepare and cleanse them today and tomorrow, and have them wash their clothing. Be sure they are ready on the third day, for on that day I will come down on Mount Sinai as all the people watch. Mark off a boundary all around the mountain. Warn the people, ‘Be careful! Do not go up on the mountain or even touch its boundaries. Anyone who touches the mountain will certainly die. No hand may touch the person or animal that crosses the boundary, instead, stone them or shoot them with arrows. They must be put to death.’ However, when the ram’s horn (shofar) sounds a long blast, then the people may go up on the mountain.”
So Moses went down to the people and instructed them to get ready for the third day, and to wash their clothes and not have any sexual intercourse with their women until that time. And on the morning of the third day, thunder roared and lightening flashed, and a dense cloud came down on the mountain and there was a long, loud blast from a shofar (ram’s horn), and all the people trembled with fear.
Moses led them out from the camp to meet with YAHUSHA, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. All of Mount Sinai was covered with smoke because YAHUSHA had descended on it in the form of fire. The smoke billowed into the sky like smoke from the hottest furnace, and the whole mountain shook violently. As the blast of the ram’s horn grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and YAHUSHA thundered his reply. YAHUSHA came down on the top of Mount Sinai and called Moses to the top of the mountain. So Moses began climbing the mountain.
Then YAHUSHA told Moses, “Go back down and warn the people not to break through the boundaries to see Me, or they will die. Even the priests (firstborns) who regularly come near Me must cleanse themselves so that My power doesn’t break out and destroy them.”
But Moses protested, “The people can’t come up to Mount Sinai for You already warned us, telling us to mark off a boundary all around the mountain to set it apart”.
But YAHUSHA said, “Go down and bring Aaron back up with you and in the meantime, don’t let the priests or the people push through to approach Me, or I’ll break out and destroy them.” So Moses went down to the people and told them what YAHUSHA had said.
