THE ASCENDING-NEAR OFFERING (LEV.1)
IN HEBREW, THE WORD FOR ‘BURNT’ (OFFERING) LITERALLY MEANS ‘GO UP’, ‘ASCEND’, ‘APPROACH’ OR ‘BRING-NEAR’ AND SINCE YISHARAL’S CARNAL MIND STILL PICTURED YAHUSHA UP IN THE SKY, THIS `ASCENDING-COMING NEAR TO ME’ OFFERING ALLOWED THEM TO PICTURE THE SMOKE BEING EMITTED FROM THE SACRIFICE AND INTO THE SKY SO THAT YAHUSHA WOULD SMELL IT AND BE PLEASED. THIS ASCENDING-NEAR OFFERING WAS TO BE PRESENTED DAILY BY THE INDIVIDUAL EACH EVENING AND MORNING AND WAS NOT TO COVER ANY PARTICULAR BAD BEHAVIOUR, BUT MERELY TO GAIN YAHUSHA’S FAVOR AND BE IN GOOD STANDING AND RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM - LIKE A LOVE-GIFT OR TRIBUTE.
And Yahusha called ('UYIQARA') to Moses from the Tabernacle saying, “Give the following instructions to the people of Yisharal. When you present an animal as a voluntary ASCENDING-NEAR OFFERING to Me, take it from your herd or your flock, but it must be a perfect male. Bring it to the entrance of the Tabernacle so I can accept you, lay your hand on the animal’s head TRANSFERRING THE EVIL FROM THE PERSON TO THE ANIMAL and I will accept its death in your place to purify you, making you right in My eyes.
Then you THE COMMON PERSON slaughter the animal in My presence, and Aaron’s sons (the Priests) will present the animal’s blood by splattering it against all sides of the altar that stands at the entrance to the Tabernacle. Then you skin the animal and cut it into pieces and the sons of Aaron will build a wood fire on the altar, arrange all the pieces of the offering, (including the head and fat), on the wood, but the internal organs and the legs must first be washed with water.
Then the priest will burn the entire sacrifice on the altar as a burnt ASCENDING-NEAR OFFERING. It is a special gift, and a pleasing sweet fragrance to Me.
THE PRIESTS DEALT WITH THE BLOOD BUT EACH PERSON WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR (AND AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN) HIS OWN WORSHIP OFFERING TO YAHUSHA.
And if all you can afford is a bird to present as a ASCENDING-NEAR OFFERING, choose either a turtledove or a young pigeon and the priest will take the bird to the altar, wring off its head, and burn it on the altar. But first he must drain its blood against the side of the altar, remove it’s feathers and throw them in the ashes on the east side of the altar. Then, grasping the bird by its wings, the priest will tear the bird open (but without tearing it apart). Then he will burn it as an ASCENDING-NEAR OFFERING on the altar. It is a special gift (LIKE A TRIBUTE) and a pleasing sweet fragrance to Me.
THIS DAILY `BURNT’ OFFERING (MORNING & NIGHT) HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ATONING FOR DISOBEDIENCE, IT WAS A LOVE-GIFT IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN A CLOSE, PEACEFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH YAHUSHA (NOT SO MUCH ABOUT WHAT THEY’D DONE BUT ABOUT WHO THEY WERE), IE THEIR FALLEN & CORRUPT CONDITION IN THE EYES OF A PERFECT CREATOR. IT WAS AN ACT OF OBEDIENCE & SURRENDER TO YAHUSHA, JUST AS ABRAHAM OFFERED UP ISAAC, NOT BECAUSE OF ANY PARTICULAR EVIL HE HAD COMMITTED BUT BECAUSE WHEN ASKED, HE WAS OBEDIENT AND SURRENDERED TO YAHUSHA’S DESIRE (AND THE LAMB WAS PROVIDED, NOT JUST POINTING TO YAHUSHA’S OWN ULTIMATE SACRIFICE, BUT ALSO FORESHADOWING THE LEVITICAL SACRIFICIAL SYSTEM TO COME IN 500YRS).
THE SIZE OF THE SACRIFICIAL ANIMAL HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE BEHAVIOUR NEEDING FORGIVENESS! NOR WAS THE MORE EXPENSIVE SACRIFICE MORE HIGHLY VALUED. NO WILD ANIMALS WERE ALLOWED EITHER, PERIOD! YOU COULDN’T JUST GO OFF, KILL A DEER AND USE IT FOR A SACRIFICE.
