NADAB & ABIHU'S STRANGE FIRE (LEV.19)

And Aaron’s sons (Nadab and Abihu) put strange coals of fire in their incense burners and sprinkled incense over them, disobeying YAHUSHA by burning strange incense before Him (something that should never be done). So a great fire-ball shot out from YAHUSHA’S presence and engulfed them, and they died right there on the spot before YAHUSHA.

DESPITE BEING AN ALAHIM OF OVERWHELMING LOVE, FAVOUR AND KINDNESS, YAHUSHA’S WILLINGNESS TO JUDGE, PUNISH AND (WHEN HE DEEMS NECESSARY) UTTERLY DESTROY PEOPLE, SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED. HE FLOODED THE WHOLE EARTH ONCE & DESTROYED MILLIONS IN SODOM AND EGYPT. THIS FALSE IDEA THAT THE HARSH AND JUDGMENTAL ALAHIM OF THE ANCIENT SCRIPTURES SOMEHOW CHANGED TO A LIBERAL, ALL-LOVING, ALL-MERCIFUL (TOLERATE & FORGIVE ANYTHING) BEING, IS NOTHING BUT A MODERN AND PROGRESSIVE THEOLOGY THAT HAS NO BASIS IN THE SCRIPTURES. (REMEMBER ANANIAS & SAPPHIRA?)

Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what Yahuah meant when he said, ‘To those who come near Me, I’ll be treated as Set-Apart, displaying My esteem before all the people.’” And Aaron was silent. So Moses called for Mishaal and Altsaphan (Aaron’s cousins, the sons of his uncle Uzzial), saying to them, “Come, grab the boys and move their bodies will you, away from the front of the sanctuary. Take them to a place outside the camp please.” So they came forward and picked them up by their garments and carried them out of the camp, just as Moses had instructed.

Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons (Alazar and Ithamar), “Control yourselves and don’t go on about this, showing grief by leaving your hair uncombed or by tearing your clothes (MOURNING THE DEAD). If you do, you’ll die too, and Yahuah’s anger will strike the whole community of Yisharal. However, the rest of the Yisharalites, your relatives, may mourn because of Yahuah’s fiery destruction of Nadab and Abihu. But you must not leave the entrance of the Tabernacle or you’ll die, for you have been anointed with Yahuah’s anointing oil.”

So they did as Moses instructed.

DESPITE TODAY’S WORLD, TO YAHUSHA, THERE’S NOTHING MORE UNNATURAL THAN DEATH, WHICH IS WHY HE CAME TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Then YAHUSHA said to Aaron, “You and your descendants must never drink wine or any other alcoholic drink before going into the Tabernacle. If you do, you’ll die. This is a permanent Instruction for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation. You must distinguish between what is Set-Apart and what is common, between what is unclean and what is clean. And you must teach the Yisharalites all the decrees that I have given them through Moses.”

Then Moses said to Aaron and his remaining sons, Eleazar and Ithamar, “Take what is left of the LOVE-GRAIN OFFERING after a portion has been presented as a special gift to Yahuah, and eat it beside the altar. Make sure it contains no yeast, for it is most Set-Apart. You must eat it in a special place, for it has been given to you and your descendants as your portion of the special gifts presented to Yahuah. These are the Instructions I have been given. But the breast and thigh that were lifted up as a special offering may be eaten in any place that is clean. These parts have been given to you and your descendants as your portion of the INTIMATE-PEACE OFFERING presented by the people of Yisharal. You must lift up the thigh and breast as a special offering to Yahuah, along with the fat of the special gifts. These parts will belong to you and your descendants as your permanent right, just as Yahuah has instructed.”

Moses then asked them what had happened to the goat of the PURIFYING OFFERING. When he discovered it had been burnt up, he became very angry with Eleazar and Ithamar (Aaron’s remaining sons) shouting “WHY DIDN’T YOU EAT THE PURIFYING OFFERING IN THE SPECIAL AREA? FOR GOODNESS SAKE, IT’S A SET-APART OFFERING! Yahuah has given it to you to remove the guilt of the community and to purify the people, making them right with Him. Since the animal’s blood was not brought into the Set-Apart Place, you should’ve eaten the meat in the special area as I ordered you.”

THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO EAT IT INSIDE THE CONFINES OF THE COURTYARD BUT INSTEAD DISREGARDED YAHUSHA’S INSTRUCTIONS AND ATE IT IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION. ALTHOUGH THIS ACTION WASN’T AS SERIOUS AS WHAT NADAB AND ABIHU DID, IT WAS STILL A VIOLATION AGAINST YAHUSHA’S INSTRUCTIONS. WHY DIDN’T THEY DROP DEAD, WHO KNOWS? MAYBE YAHUSHA HAD COMPASSION ON THEM SINCE THEY WERE ALL STILL SHELL-SHOCKED. “I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION.”

Then Aaron answered Moses, “Today my sons presented both their PURIFYING OFFERING and their ASCENDING-NEAR OFFERING to Yahuah, even though this tragedy has happened to me. If I had eaten the people’s PURIFYING OFFERING on such a tragic day as this, would Yahuah have been pleased?”

And when Moses heard this, he was satisfied.

MOSES WAS UNIQUE AMONG YAHUSHA’S PROPHETS BECAUSE THE SCRIPTURES MAKE IT CLEAR THAT IF MOSES SPOKE IT, IT WAS AS IF YAHUSHA SPOKE IT. SURE, AARON SHOULD HAVE EATEN THE SET-APART MEAL AS INSTRUCTED AND IGNORED THEIR CUSTOM OF NOT EATING TO MOURN THE DEAD (WHICH THEY WERE TOLD NOT TO DO IN THIS SITUATION) BUT SINCE MOSES FOUND AARON’S RESPONSE ACCEPTABLE, MAYBE SOME COMPASSION WAS BEING GRANTED ON THIS FAMILY AFTER THE DEATH OF NADAB & ABIHU?
