SO WE HAVE A REAL CHALLENGE OF SETTING ASIDE OUR COMMONLY HELD NOTIONS OF HOW THE EARTH AND THE COSMOS OPERATES, BECAUSE THAT'S NOT HOW THE NEW EARTH AND COSMOS WILL OPERATE. WE COULD LOOSELY CALL THIS SECTION OF SCRIPTURE TODAY 'THE ETERNAL ERA'. THAT IS, WE FIND THE EARTH AND UNIVERSE HAVE BEEN DESTROYED AND BORN ANEW INTO THEIR "FOREVER" STATES. WE ARE GIVEN SOME HINTS AND EVEN SOME DIRECT STATEMENTS ABOUT WHAT THIS NEW CREATION WILL BE LIKE. HOWEVER THE ONLY TOOLS AND MEANS JOHN HAS TO COMMUNICATE THESE DETAILS TO US WITH, IS THE WORDS AND TERMS OF THE PHYSICAL WORLD THAT HE LIVED IN (LATE FIRST CENTURY).

IN FIRST WOMAN IS A WHORE, DRUNK ON PLEASURE AND SHE DESIRES EVERYTHING THIS WORLD AND SATAN HAS TO OFFER - BUT THE NEXT WOMAN IS YAHUSHA'S PURE, SPOTLESS BRIDE , WHO ONLY SEEKS AFTER THE LAMB.
IT IS FROM THE SAME GROUP OF ANGELS (WHO CARRY OUT THE BOWL JUDGMENTS) THAT ONE REVEALS THE FUTURE TO JOHN ABOUT BOTH THE WHORE OF BABYLON AND THE BRIDE OF THE LAMB. THE ORIGIN OF BABYLON THE GREAT IS SATAN THROUGH WICKED HUMANITY. THE ORIGIN OF THE NEW JERUSALEM IS HEAVEN AND SO IT BEARS HEAVEN'S NATURE - IT IS THE PERFECT-PURE MARRIAGE HOME OF YAHUSHA’S PERFECT-PURE PEOPLE. IT IS NOT THE OLD JERUSALEM THAT ASCENDED TO HEAVEN TO GET CLEANED UP, A NEW PAINT JOB, AND SENT BACK DOWN. IT IS A JERUSALEM THAT HAS BEEN CREATED BY YAHUSHA IN THE SPIRITUAL REALM.
SO SINCE IT'S DESCENDING FROM HEAVEN, THEN ITS 'PHYSICAL' NATURE SHOULD BE LOOKED AT ABSTRACTLY / SYMBOLICALLY / SHADOWLY - ALTHOUGH SOME ROOM HAS TO BE ALLOWED FOR THE FACT THAT: WHAT "PHYSICAL" AMOUNTS TO IN THE NEW EARTH AND UNIVERSE MAY BE ENTIRELY UNLIKE ANYTHING WE WOULD DEEM AS 'PHYSICAL' TODAY. I THINK IT'S SO BIZARRELY AND ABSTRACTLY LITERAL AND YET SYMBOLIC ALL AT ONCE. THIS NEW JERUSALEM (AND THE WAY IT IS DESCRIBED TO JOHN) USES THE BEST WORDS AVAILABLE AT HIS TIME IN HISTORY TO DESCRIBE THIS NEW REALITY THAT HAS JUST ARRIVED.
ALTHOUGH IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE WE'VE TALKED ABOUT BABYLON, WE SHOULDN'T LOSE TRACK THAT (JUST LIKE MANY OTHER SECTIONS OF REVELATION) STRONG CONTRASTS ARE SET UP BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL, WHAT'S YAHUSHA'S AND WHAT'S SATANS. THE NEW JERUSALEM IS THE GOOD CITY AND BABYLON IS THE EVIL. LISTEN TO THE FIRST 3 VERSES OF REV.17 CONCERNING BABYLON AND NOTICE THE SIMILARITY TO WHAT WE JUST READ:

WHILE THE NEW JERUSALEM IS PRIMARILY ABOUT THE REDEEMED PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN IT, NONETHELESS THE VIVID DESCRIPTIONS OF THE CITY ITSELF TELL US THAT THE INFRASTRUCTURE IS VERY IMPORTANT AS WELL. AND WE'RE TOLD THAT IT SHINES WITH YAHUSHA’S ESTEEM. SO IF WE TAKE THE HEBREW WORD 'SHEKINAH' TO BE THE DIVINE PERSONIFICATION OF THE ESTEEM OR SPLENDOUR OF YAHUSHA, THEN WE WON'T BE TOO FAR OFF THE MARK TO UNDERSTAND ITS BRILLIANCE AND RADIANCE.
JOHN COMPARED IT TO A GIANT PERFECT DIAMOND. THE CITY HAD GATES - 12 OF THEM. EACH GATE WAS NAMED FOR ONE OF THE 12 TRIBES (ORIGINAL 'YISHARAL' WAS DIVORCED - BUT SHE REMAINS A SYMBOLIC SHADOW OF YAHUSHA’S NEW DIVERSE BRIDE) - AND CLEARLY HER SYMBOLISM IS STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE IN YAHUSHA’S MIND, SINCE HE’S NAMED THE GATES OF HIS PERFECT MARRIAGE HOME AFTER THESE 12 TRIBES - BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY REPRESENTED AND STOOD FOR - IN HIS DELIVERANCE MASTER-PLAN ...
YAHUSHA'S FIRST BRIDE FAILED BUT HIS NEW BRIDE WILL BE PURE IN OVERCOMING. THE NAMES ON THESE GATES ARE NOT ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF OLD BUT ABOUT WHO THEY REPRESENTED THROUGH THE EXODUS, SINAI, WILDERNESS, ALL CAMPED AROUND THE TABERNACLE. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE OF YAHUSHA'S HEART IN REDEEMING HIS PEOPLE AND WANTING TO BE SO CLOSE TO THEM. THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN, BUT TRANSFORMED THROUGH HIS BLOOD.
14And the wall of the city had 12 Foundations, and on them were the names of the 12 first Followers of the Lamb. 15And he who spoke with me (THE ANGEL) had a gold measuring rod, to measure the city, and its gates, and its wall.
THE SIZE AND SHAPE IS CLEARLY IMPORTANT BECAUSE IN SCRIPTURE, TO MEASURE SOMETHING MEANS TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH. SO (FOR EXAMPLE) TO MEASURE A PERSON IS TO DETERMINE THE TRUTH OF WHO THAT PERSON REALLY IS. THE NEW JERUSALEM IS BEING MEASURED SO THAT THE TRUTH OF ITS UNDERLYING NATURE CAN BE ESTABLISHED. AND YET THE CITY DOES HAVE DEFINITE DIMENSIONS, EVEN THOUGH THE ENGLISH MASKS ALOT OF IT.

16And the city lies 4-cornered, and its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the rod: 2,200 kilometres in length, and the breadth, and height of it are equal (12,000 MEASURES / FURLONGS / STADIA OF DISTANCE). 17And the Angel measured its wall: 65 metres (144 CUBITS) using the standard everyday measurement.

THE HEIGHT OF THE WALL IS 144 CUBITS: 12 TIMES 12. SO THE MEASUREMENTS OF THE CITY ITSELF (ALTHOUGH REAL AND NOT MERELY A FIGURATIVE CITY) ARE MEANT TO SYMBOLISE AND REPRESENT THE NUMBER OF PERFECT GOVERNMENT, AND THAT IS ALWAYS 12.
THE FIRST THING TO NOTICE IS THE ENORMITY OF THE CITY: A 2200km CUBE. SOLOMON ALSO BUILT THE SET-APART ORACLE IN HIS TEMPLE, AS A CUBE WHICH ACTED AS A BARRIER SO THAT MANKIND COULD NOT COME NEAR AND DEFILE HIM AND BE FRACKLED BY DIVINE RADIATION.

OBVIOUSLY THIS WAS A MERE SHADOW OF THE NEW JERUSALEM BUILT IN HEAVEN (IN THE SHAPE OF A CUBE) REFLECTING THE SAME CHARACTER AND CONCEPT. FOR ALL OF NEW JERUSALEM IS AS SET-APART AND UNDEFILED BY SIN AS WAS THE MOST SET-APART PLACE. BUT EVEN MORE IMPORTANT IS THAT THE LACK OF A TEMPLE IN THE NEW JERUSALEM INDICATES THAT ALL BARRIERS BETWEEN YAHUSHA AND MANKIND ARE UNECESSARY. REDEEMED AND NEW BRIDE, LIVING ON REDEEMED AND NEW EARTH, IS AS FREE FROM SIN AND UNCLEANNESS AS THE ANGELS ARE. EVEN MORE, SINCE SATAN AND SIN ITSELF HAVE BEEN DONE AWAY WITH, THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY FOR MANKIND TO SIN AND BRING UNCLEANNESS. JUST AS SOLOMON'S TEMPLE IN EARTHLY JERUSALEM (WHERE THE PRIESTS WALKED ON THE 'GOLD FLOOR', AND THE WALLS WERE OVERLAID WITH GOLD, AND STUDDED WITH ALL MANNER OF PRECIOUS STONES) SO IT IS IN HERE IN THE NEW DIVINE JERUSALEM. SOLOMON'S TEMPLE SHADOWED FORTH THE CITY OF YAHUSHA IN FINALITY. A GOLDEN CITY WITH A GOLDEN STREET, THE HOME OF ALL WHO HAVE PARTAKEN OF THE DIVINE INCORRUPTIBLE SEED OF ETERNITY. THIS IS IN GREAT CONTRAST TO THE TABERNACLE OF MOSES, WHERE THE PRIESTS MINISTERED IN THE SAME SHEKINAH PORTAL ESTEEM, BUT IT WAS ON AN 'EARTH FLOOR', IN THE WILDERNESS, SPEAKING OF THE TEMPORALNESS OF LIFE.
18And the structure of its wall was Jasper and the city was clean gold, like clear glass. 19And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation: Jasper, the 2nd Sapphire, the 3rd Agate, the 4th Emerald, 20the 5th Sardonyx, the 6th Ruby, the 7th Krysolite, the 8th Beryl, the 9th Topaz, the 10th rysoprase, the 11th Jacinth, and the 12th Amethyst.

STAGGERING IN ITS ESTEEM AND SPLENDOUR: NOTHING LIKE IT HAS EVER EXISTED. THE MENTION OF EACH CITY GATE MADE FROM A SINGLE PEARL IS TO EMPHASISE THEIR EXTREME VALUE. IN THE 1ST CENTURY, PEARLS WERE AS VALUABLE AS GOLD AND LARGE PEARLS WERE EVEN MORE VALUABLE THAN GOLD, BY WEIGHT (REMEMBER THE PARABLE YAHUSHA TOLD ABOUT THE MAN WHO SOLD EVERYTHING HE OWNED TO BUY THE PRECIOUS PEARL? ...AND ALSO NOT TO THROW OUR PEARLS TO SWINE WHO WILL ON US AND ATTACK?)
THE 12 FOUNDATION STONES ARE EACH A PRECIOUS GEM. AND EVEN THOUGH WE'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THE CITY'S 12 FOUNDATION STONES ARE NAMED AFTER YAHUSHA'S 12 FIRST FOLLOWERS , ANOTHER CONNECTION COULDN'T BE MORE OBVIOUS: IT IS TO THE HIGH PRIEST'S BREASTPLATE THAT WAS ORGANISED IN A SQUARE AND HAD ON IT 12 GEMSTONES, EACH REPRESENTING ONE OF THE 12 TRIBES.
The pearl is a gem produced by suffering, formed in the depths and darkness of the sea, yet when brought to the surface, it has the ability to show forth all the colours of the rainbow light spectrum. It is the only specific gem, which is produced by a living creature, which actually gives its life to bring forth the pearl to full esteem and maturity ... a marvellous picture of Yahusha !
22And I saw no Temple in this city, for YAHUSHA Al Shaddai (the Lamb) is its Temple. 23And the city had no need of the sun, or of the moon to shine in it, for the esteem of YAHUSHA lighted it (the Lamb is its lamp!)
IT IS A CITY WITHOUT A TEMPLE, NOT A TEMPLE WITHOUT A CITY! ALL OF THE CITIES OF EARTH HAD THEIR TEMPLES TO THEIR VARIOUS DEITIES. THE HEATHEN CITIES HAD THEIR PAGAN TEMPLES, FULL OF CORRUPTION, PROMOTING PRIDE AND MANKIND'S PERVERSITY. JERUSALEM AND BABYLON ALSO HAD THEIR TEMPLE INFACT THE DISTINCTIVE FEATURES OF BABYLON AND JERUSALEM WERE THEIR TEMPLES. THE TEMPLE REPRESENTED ALL THAT WAS INVOLVED IN THEIR WORSHIP, THEIR PRIESTHOOD AND THEIR
24And the nations, of those who are delivered, will walk in its light, and the Kings of the earth bring their esteem into it. THESE ARE ALL THE BRIDE 25And its gates will not be shut at all by day, for night will not be there. 26And they will bring the esteem and the appreciation of the nations into it. 27And there will by no means enter into it whatever is unclean, neither anyone doing abomination and false-hood, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Scroll of Life.
THIS IS A FURTHER INDICATOR THAT THE UNDERLYING GOVERNING DYNAMICS OF THE EARTH AND UNIVERSE HAVE CHANGED. THE EXISTENCE OF DAY DOES NOT MEAN NIGHT MUST ALSO BE PRESENT. IN FACT WE'RE DIRECTLY TOLD THAT NIGHTTIME WILL NOT EXIST.

A DETESTABLE OR ABOMINABLE THING IS SOMETHING OR SOMEONE EXCEPTIONALLY SINFUL AND UNCLEAN BEFORE YAHUSHA. DECEIT IS THE PRIMARY ESSENCE OF EVIL, AND SATAN'S OVERRIDING AND UNDERLYING ATTRIBUTE IS THAT HE IS A DECEIVER.
