TODAY WE ENCOUNTER DAVID FOR THE FIRST TIME. SAMUEL HAS (WITH GREAT PERSONAL PAIN) DONE HIS JOB IN FIRING KING SAUL AT YAHUSHA’S INSTRUCTION, HOWEVER SAUL HAS NO INTENTION OF GIVING UP THE THRONE. HE FULLY UNDERSTOOD WHAT SAM SAID IN PRONOUNCING HIS IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL, BUT THE SAME REBELLIOUS SPIRIT THAT CAUSED YAHUSHA TO FIRE HIM WAS STILL THERE, SO SAUL WAS DETERMINED TO IGNORE YAHUSHA’S INSTRUCTION AND HAVE HIS OWN WAY. SINCE SAMUEL HAD RETREATED TO HIS HOMETOWN OF RAMAH, THERE WAS CERTAINLY NO ONE AMONG THE KING’S COURT OR ADVISORS TO CHALLENGE THE VALIDITY OF SAUL’S CLAIM TO BE THE RULER OVER YISHARAL.

DAVID (SAM.16)

One day Yahusha spoke to Samuel, “Sam, how long are you gonna have a pity-party about Saul? I’ve rejected him, it’s done! Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get up. Put some olive oil in your horn and go visit a man named Jesse, who lives in Bethlehem, for I’ve chosen one of his sons to be My King.”

HERE WE SEE THE PROPHETIC DYNASTY IN ACTION. JESSE WAS THE GRANDSON OF RUTH AND BOAZ FROM THE TRIBE OF JUDAH. REMEMBER JACOB’S DEATHBED BLESSING OVER HIS SONS WHILE THEY WERE STILL BACK IN EGYPT? THESE BLESSINGS WERE VERY CRYPTIC AT THE TIME BUT AS WE’VE CONTINUED THROUGH THE SCRIPTURE THE DESTINIES OF THESE 12 SONS OF JACOB BEGAN TO PLAY OUT AND WE COULD SEE

THE FAINT SHADOWS OF JACOB’S PROPHETIC WORDS BEGIN TO TAKE A MORE DISTINCT SHAPE. JACOB SAID THAT JUDAH IS GOING TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED BY HIS BROTHERS (THE OTHER 11 TRIBES WILL SUBMIT TO JUDAH AS YISHARAL’S TRIBE OF LEADERSHIP). BUT IT ALSO MEANS THAT AT SOME POINT A PERSON FROM THE TRIBE OF JUDAH WILL REIGN IN AUTHORITY OVER ALL 12 TRIBES AND THE DYNASTY OF THAT PERSON SHALL REIGN FOREVER, AND (AFTER ABOUT 6 CENTURIES) IT IS NOW HAPPENING IN THE PERSON OF DAVID.

“But if I go to Jesse in Bethlehem, Judah will think I’m Saul’s spy from the North, and if Saul finds out he’ll have me killed for treason, for consorting with the South. He’s refused to get off the throne and is practically daring You to make him.”

“Alrighty, stop freak’in Sam, Just take a calf with you and tell everyone that you’ve come to offer it as a sacrifice to Me, and both sides will just assume you’re making peace between the Tribes. Then invite Jesse to the sacrifice where the meat will be served. And when I show you which one of his sons I’ve chosen, pour the olive oil on his head to anoint him.”

So Sam did what Yahusha told him and went to Bethlehem. The town leaders went to meet him, but they were terribly afraid and asked, “Is this a friendly visit Sam?”

“Yes, I’ve come to offer a sacrifice to Yahuah, so make yourselves acceptable and ready to take part in the sacrifice, go wash your clothes and take a bath, then come with me.” Samuel also invited Jesse and his sons to come to the sacrifice, and he got them ready to take part also.

When Jesse and his sons arrived, Sam noticed Jesse’s oldest son, Eliab. “He has to be the one Yahuah has chosen,” Samuel thought to himself. But Yahusha told him, “Sam, don’t think Eliab is the ants-pants just because he’s tall and handsome. He isn’t the one I’ve chosen. People judge others by what they look like, but I judge people by what’s in their hearts.”

Jesse told his son Abinadab to go over to Samuel, but Sam said, “Nup, Yahuah hasn’t chosen him.” Next, Jesse sent his son Shammah to him, and Sam said, “Yahuah hasn’t chosen him either.”

Jesse had all seven of his sons go over to Sam with no thumbs up from Yahusha until finally Sam said, “Jesse, Yahuah hasn’t chosen any of these young men. Do you have any more sons?”

“Yes, my youngest son Dave is out taking care of the sheep.”

“Send for him!” Sam said, “We won’t start the feast until he gets here.”

So Jesse sent for David. He was a healthy, good-looking boy with a sparkle in his eyes, and as soon as David came in, Yahusha told Samuel, “He’s the one! Get up and anoint him with the olive oil.”

So Sam poured the oil on David’s head while his brothers watched and right at that moment, the Spirit of Yahusha took control of David (`BELOVED') and stayed with him from then on.

Then Samuel returned home to Ramah.

IT WAS PROBABLY NOT ENTIRELY CLEAR TO DAVID’S FAMILY (AND WHOEVER ELSE WAS IN ATTENDANCE) JUST WHAT THE ANOINTING CEREMONY WAS INTENDED TO ACCOMPLISH. THERE IS NO HINT THAT ANYONE BUT SAM (AND YAHUSHA WHO SENT HIM) KNEW WHAT AN ENORMOUS EVENT HAD JUST TRANSPIRED.

Now the Spirit of Yahusha had left Saul, and instead Yahusha had sent a spirit to torment and terrify him (CALAMITOUS MENTAL CONSEQUENCE DUE TO WICKED DISOBEDIENCE). “It’s an evil spirit from Alahim that’s frightening you,” Saul’s officials told him, “Your Majesty, let us go and look for someone who is good at playing the harp. He can play for you whenever the evil spirit from Alahim bothers you, and you’ll feel better.” THE SPIRIT YAHUSHA SENT WAS NOT ITSELF `EVIL' (FOR NOTHING ABOUT YAHUSHA IS EVIL) HOWEVER IT WAS DOING EVIL TO SAUL AS A PUNISHMENT FOR HIS REBELLIOUS BEHAVIOUR. YAHUSHA DIDN'T CREATE DARKNESS, IT'S MERELY THE ABSENCE OF HIS LIGHT.

“Ok, get me a harp-player!”

“A man named Jesse who lives in Bethlehem has a son who can play the harp,” one official said, “He’s a brave warrior and good-looking, he can also speak well, and Yahuah is with him.”

Saul sent a message to Jesse: “Tell your son Dave to leave your sheep and come here to me.” So Jesse loaded a donkey with bread and a goatskin full of wine, then he told David to take the donkey and a young goat to Saul. And David went and started working for Saul, who loved him so much that he made him his armour-bearer also. And not long after this, Saul sent another message to Jesse:

“Your son Dave is fantastic mate, please let him stay with me.” And whenever the tormenting spirit from Yahusha bothered Saul, David would play his harp and Saul would relax and be soothed, and the spirit would go away.

'ARMOUR-BEARER' WAS ACTUALLY AN OFFICIAL OFFICE OR POSITION OF PRESTIGE AND AUTHORITY. KINGS HAD NUMEROUS ARMOUR-BEARERS AND THEY EACH SERVED IN DIFFERENT WAYS. SO DAVID WAS AN ARMOUR-BEARER WHOSE FUNCTION WAS AS THE COURT MUSICIAN WHO PLAYED-AWAY THE KING’S FOUL MOODS.

TORMENT / TROUBLE

HEBREW H1204 BA'ATH:

TO BE AFRAID, TO TERRIFY, AFFRIGHTED, TROUBLE, STARTLE, FALL UPON, DISMAY, BE OVERTAKEN BY SUDDEN TERROR, OVERWHELMED, TORMENTED.

THE ABSENCE OF YAHUSHA IS TORMENT !!

THE ABSENCE OF YAHUSHA IS TORMENT !!

Did you realise that Yahusha torments the wicked?

"For if Yahusha didn’t spare the messengers who disobeyed Him but sent them to the fire, into chains of darkness to be kept for judgment …. then He won’t rescue the wicked from trial either (TEST - TROUBLE - TORMENT) or from the Day of Judgment, where He’ll punish everyone walking head-strong in the flesh, in filthy lusts, despising any authority and speaking evil of His esteemed and anointed …” 2 PETER 2 BRS

ALL ANCIENT SOCIETIES USED MUSIC TO FIGHT DEMONS AND SAUL’S ADVISORS WERE FULLY AWARE THAT THE UNDERLYING CAUSE OF THE KING’S DEPRESSION AND FITS OF RAGE WAS A SPIRIT THAT WAS TERRORISING HIM (AND SEEMED TO COME AND GO). SO THEY RECOMMENDED FINDING A SUITABLE MUSICIAN WHO COULD `MAGICALLY EXORCISE' WHATEVER DEMON OR SPIRIT THAT BROUGHT FORTH THE EVIL THAT WAS HOUNDING HIM AND PROVIDE SOME RELIEF FOR THEIR KING.

Today the Psychs just give you a pill, or meditation app!

AFTER SEEING FIRST HAND, KING SAUL DO THE MOST PARANOID AND IRRATIONAL THINGS (LIVING LIFE AS A TERRIBLY TORMENTED MAN) DAVID WENT ON TO WRITE SEVERAL PSALMS PLEADING WITH YAHUSHA FOR THIS NOT TO HAPPEN TO HIM (PSALM 51). DAVID KNEW THAT SAUL HAD THE SPIRIT OF YAHUSHA REMOVED FROM HIM AND IT LEFT HIM MENTALLY INSANE AND TORMENTED. HE KNEW THAT IT WAS SAUL'S EVIL BEHAVIOUR THAT CAUSED YAHUSHA TO REACT THIS WAY AGAINST SAUL, AND KNEW THAT NOT ONLY WAS HE HIMSELF BORN WITH A WICKED NATURE, BUT THAT AT TIMES HE ALSO COMMITTED CRIMES AGAINST YAHUSHA TOO. UNLIKE SAUL HOWEVER, DAVID CLUNG TO YAHUSHA, CONSTANTLY REPENTING AND SUBMITTING, INSTEAD OF CHALLENGING, BECAUSE HE KNEW THAT HIS PEACE AND DELIVERANCE ONLY CAME FROM THE ALAHIM OF YISHARAL AND ONLY BY HIS FAVOUR. AND DAVID HAD MANY SLEEPLESS NIGHTS (DURING WHICH HE WROTE SOME OF THESE PSALMS) WORRYING ABOUT LOSING YAHUSHA'S ANOINTING AND AS A RESULT BECOMING A DERANGED MAN WHO LOST HIS PLACE IN YAHUSHA’S KINGDOM AS SAUL HAD.

THERE IS NO EVIL IN YAHUSHA, FOR HE IS PURE GOODNESS AND LIGHT (WHICH HE PUTS INTO US THROUGH HIS SPIRIT), BUT IF WE DON'T FLOW WITH THE CHANGING AND TRANSFORMING TO MAKE US CLEAN - IF WE ARE WILLFULLY DISOBEDIENT AND REFUSE TO GIVE IN AND GO YAHUSHA'S WAY, THEN THE SAME SPIRITS HE ASSIGNS TO US FOR PROTECTION AND COMFORT WILL TROUBLE, TORMENT AND TERRIFY US UNTIL ,

1. WE STOP, SURRENDER AND FOLLOW, OR

2. DIG OUR HEALS IN, FALL AWAY AND GO INSANE !

YOU ARE THE CHOOSER!

ARE YOU TIRED OF THE TORMENT ... OF YOU ?
